Gardens Alive. Coir Brick Is An Environmentally Friendly Alternative To Peat. Made From Coconut Husk Fibers, Coir Is An All-Natural X -Product Of Coconut Harvesting And Processing. When Soaked In Water, A Coir Brick Will Expand To 5-Times Its Original Size. Use It Alone Or Mix It Into Garden Soil. Coir Aids Moisture Retention In Dry Soils And Helps Plants Absorb And Retain Nutrients. It Also Keeps Soil Around The Plants Roots Aerated And It Is Ph Neutral. Put It In Compost Piles And The Carbon-Rich Coir Will Offset The High Amount Nitrogen Common In Compost. Use It Alone Or Mixed Into Garden Soil.
